Mo. Gov. Blasts Bill's Employment Law Changes

Law360, New York (April 25, 2011, 9:36 PM EDT) -- Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon on Monday slammed legislation that would require employees who file wrongful termination suits to prove in court that discrimination was a motivating factor, instead of a contributing factor, for dismissal.

Nixon, a Democrat, strongly criticized the legislation, saying that the proposed changes to the state's employment law would roll back decades of progress in civil rights protections by making it harder for employees to prove in court that they suffered discriminated.
