Insurance Broker Wins Bid To Kill Plane Engine Fight

Law360 (April 26, 2011, 2:11 PM EDT) -- A Florida federal judge on Monday dismissed Aero Technologies LLC's suit against an insurance broker over the loss of nine aircraft engines the Mexican government confiscated after the aviation repair company leased them to a now-defunct Mexican airline.

Judge James Lawrence King ruled that Lockton Companies International Ltd., which brokered reinsurance for the airline's insurer, is not liable for breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty or negligence.
