Some Law Firms Profiting From Alternative Fees

Law360, New York (April 26, 2011, 6:37 PM EDT) -- Nearly one-third of law firms report making higher profits with alternative fees than with the billable hour, positioning them to take advantage of this strategic weapon, according to a new survey of firm leaders and corporate counsel.

The 31 percent of firms making more money with alternative fees are paying close attention to internal procedures and engaging in regular discussions with clients, the 2011 Facts About Alternative Fees report by The BTI Consulting Group (Wellesley, Mass.) said.
