Wis. Power Plant Emissions Suit Stayed For Deal Talks

Law360, New York (April 26, 2011, 3:55 PM EDT) -- A federal judge on Tuesday stayed discovery so that settlement discussions may continue between the Sierra Club and a Wisconsin power transmission company that allegedly exceeded emissions standards for carbon monoxide and other pollutants.

The Sierra Club alleges Dairyland violated visible emissions standards at two coal-fired power plants in violation of the Clean Air Act and Wisconsin's state implementation plan and made modifications to the plants without attaining requisite permits.
