Lawmakers Seek ITC Probe Of Brazilian Farm Exports

Law360, New York (April 28, 2011, 5:52 PM EDT) -- A pair of bipartisan lawmakers on Tuesday asked the U.S. International Trade Commission to look into how Brazilian agricultural exports affect American farmers’ ability to compete in the fast-growing $116 billion international agricultural sales market.

Sens. Max Baucus, D-Mont., and Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, said in a letter to ITC Chairwoman Deanna Okun that an investigation into how the market has changed could help the U.S. provide optimal resources and trade policies to keep U.S. ranchers and farmers competitive and ensure their global market continues to grow....
