Judge OKs Collins & Aikman Fee Examiner

Law360, New York (May 7, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Over the protests of Collins & Aikman Corp., a federal judge has decided to appoint a fee examiner in the supplier’s Chapter 11 case, following criticism over the millions of dollars in professional fees that have been racked up.

On Monday, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Steven Rhodes ruled that a fee examiner might help to sort out the fights that have erupted since Collins & Aikman decided that it would liquidate rather than reorganize after spending 18 months in bankruptcy.
