Kia Recalls Spectras Over Fuel Tank Corrosion

Law360, New York (April 29, 2011, 6:28 PM EDT) -- Kia Motors Corp. said Friday it was hauling more than 58,000 LD Spectra compact cars off the road after finding the vehicles’ fuel tanks are susceptible to damaging road-salt corrosion.

The voluntary recall affects 58,322 LD Spectra cars in the U.S. from model years 2004-2007 that were purchased in cold weather states with heavy salt usage, such as Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota and New York, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.
