EU OKs Arkema's €550M Total Resins Units Buy

Law360 (April 29, 2011, 7:32 PM EDT) -- European Union antitrust regulators greenlighted Arkema Inc.’s €550 million ($729 million) acquisition of Total SA’s coating resins and photocure resins units Friday, finding no concerns to warrant an in-depth investigation of the deal.

The European Commission cleared the deal under the EU Merger Regulation, finding that “the transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it,” according to a statement from the executive body.
