Private Sector Presses SEC, CFTC On Swap Timelines

Law360, New York (May 2, 2011, 2:33 PM EDT) -- Financial sector representatives asked the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission on Monday to provide greater clarity on their swap rules and, once that is done, to quickly implement them.

The agencies' implementation of their final rules on swaps under the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act needs to be pursued quickly once guidance from the agencies becomes clear, a group of private industry panelists said at a public roundtable discussion hosted by the commissions.
