Rohm & Haas Dodges Ill. Cancer Cluster Suit

Law360, New York (May 3, 2011, 11:18 PM EDT) -- A Pennsylvania state judge last week tossed a case against Rohm and Haas Co. over a brain cancer cluster in Ringwood, Ill., criticizing plaintiff Joanne Branham's expert witnesses who aimed to link chemical contamination to her deceased husband's cancer.

Common Pleas Judge Allan L. Tereshko dismissed the suit April 27, finding that testimony from two expert witnesses failed to establish Rohm and Haas was liable for the brain cancer of Branham's husband. Branham sued Rohm and Haas in May 2006, alleging that her husband's brain cancer...
