As Court Funding Drops, Some Call For Tax On Attys' Fees

Law360, New York (October 26, 2011, 6:53 PM EDT) -- With state courts across the U.S. in dire fiscal straits and more cuts likely on the way, some in the legal community are calling for the creation of a litigation excise tax on attorneys' fees in large civil cases to make up the shortfall, but many attorneys say the tax would do more harm than good.
