Allied Waste Pays For Violating Consent Decree

Law360, New York (May 9, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Allied Waste Industries Inc. has agreed to pay $125,000 to settle charges that it violated a consent decree for the second time regarding its 2000 takeover of a rival waste services company.

The U.S. Department of Justice said Tuesday that Allied Waste violated the decree handed down as part of its $9.4 billion acquisition of Browning-Ferris Industries Inc.
