Vt. Passes Bill To Make Entergy Pay In Nuke Plant Fight

Law360, New York (May 5, 2011, 2:56 PM EDT) -- Vermont legislators approved a measure Wednesday that would allow the state to collect legal costs from Entergy Corp. for the defense of a suit claiming the state breached an understanding over the relicensing of a nuclear power plant.

A broad energy bill did not contain this measure when it was introduced at the beginning of the year, but the state Senate amended it after Entergy filed a complaint in Vermont federal court alleging that the state has no authority to close the Vermont Yankee nuclear power...
