Law360, New York (June 1, 2011, 4:32 PM EDT) -- As discovery becomes more burdensome, many general counsels and some law firms are advocating the use of technology to review documents — despite push-back from some lawyers who contend computers cannot replace the human eye.

Litigation revolves around a costly game of withholding and releasing massive quantities of electronic and paper documents during discovery, experts say. Law firms often enlist junior or temporary attorneys to pore over these documents to determine whether they are relevant to the case at hand.
