Legal Industry Adds 1,500 Jobs In April

Law360, New York (May 9, 2011, 4:58 PM EDT) -- The U.S. legal industry added 1,500 jobs in April amid a nationwide gain in private sector employment, according to a U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics survey released Friday.

The number of jobs in the legal services industry increased to 1,114,700 in April, from 1,113,200 in March, the bureau reported. The boost in legal industry hiring reversed a two-month period of job loss in February, which shed 1,600 positions, and March, which lost 300 jobs, according to the bureau.
