EU Involved In 11 Antitrust Probes

Law360, New York (May 10, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The director general of the European Union's competition authority reportedly disclosed Thursday that his agency was investigating 11 separate violations of antitrust law.

Speaking at the St. Gallen International Competition Law Forum in Switzerland, Philip Lowe said there were 11 ongoing Article 82 investigations, according to Reuters. Article 82 of the EC Treaty is considered by many to be the European equivalent of Section 2 of the U.S. Sherman Act.
