Union Leaders Call On SEC To Support Enron Plaintiffs

Law360, New York (May 10, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A group of union leaders and consumer advocates has asked the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to demonstrate its support for investors by filing an amicus brief in the $40 billion shareholder suit against Enron currently on appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit tossed the case, filed by shareholders against several major Wall Street firms, in March, ruling that the banks could not be held liable for their involvement with Enron.
