Customer Info Not A Trade Secret: Nationwide Agents

Law360, New York (May 11, 2011, 6:13 PM EDT) -- A group of independent agents sued Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. in Pennsylvania federal court Tuesday, challenging scores of provisions in their contracts with the insurer, including an assertion that customer policy information and policy expiration dates are Nationwide trade secrets.

Nationwide Insurance Independent Contractors Association Inc. launched the suit on behalf of 54 of its Pennsylvania members, citing wide-ranging problems with the various contracts they signed with Nationwide.
