Most Of Foley Partner's Bias Suit Shipped To State Court

Law360, New York (May 13, 2011, 2:44 PM EDT) -- A 57-year-old white, male Foley & Lardner LLP partner who accused the firm of race, gender and age discrimination will have to litigate his contract and most of his bias claims in state court, a Michigan federal judge ruled Thursday.

U.S. District Judge John Corbett O’Meara dismissed eight of partner Raymond J. Carey's nine counts against Foley without prejudice after declining to exercise supplemental jurisdiction over his state law claims. Carey's claim under the Equal Pay Act will go forward in federal court.
