Humidifier Maker Kaz Slaps Rival With Patent Suit

Law360, New York (May 13, 2011, 1:53 PM EDT) -- Kaz USA Inc., the largest vaporizer and humidifier manufacturer in the U.S., sued HoMedics Inc. in Massachusetts federal court on Thursday, alleging the rival company infringed a patent for an ultraviolet humidifier.

Though Kaz competes with HoMedics in the market for humidification products, this is the first time the company has sued its rival for patent infringement, according to federal court records.
