Law360, New York (May 16, 2011, 4:50 PM EDT) -- Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB said it was dropping a Virginia trademark suit over broadband provider Clearwire Corp.'s logo on Friday after Clearwire announced that it had no immediate plans to launch a line of smartphones that would compete with Sony Ericsson's products.
“This representation effectively provided Sony Ericsson with much of the emergency relief it sought,” the company said in a statement on Friday.
