Judge Stops Adidas' Trademark Suit Against Riedell

Law360, New York (May 17, 2011, 7:37 PM EDT) -- Adidas AG cannot pursue infringement claims against Riedell Shoes Inc. in Oregon over a striped design on Riedell's skating boots, but instead must litigate the matter in Minnesota, where Riedell filed an earlier suit to preempt Adidas' claims, a judge ruled.

U.S. District Judge Michael J. Davis said Riedell's declaratory judgment suit takes precedence over Adidas' infringement suit in Oregon, and granted Riedell's motion for an injunction stopping Adidas from pursuing the case.
