Taser Zaps Rival Stun Gun Co. With Patent Suit

Law360, New York (May 18, 2011, 7:09 PM EDT) -- Self-defense equipment maker Taser International Inc. slapped Karbon Arms LLC with a suit in Delaware on Monday seeking to bar Karbon from selling two allegedly infringing stun gun models.

Taser claims that Karbon's MPID and MPID-C stun gun models infringe two Taser-owned patents, U.S. Patent Number 7,800,885, issued in September and titled “Systems and methods for immobilization using a compliance signal group"; and U.S. Patent Number 7,602,597, issued in 2009 and titled "Systems and methods for immobilization using charge delivery.”
