Arkema, Elf Lose Bid To Toss €59M Bleach Cartel Fines

Law360, New York (May 17, 2011, 4:01 PM EDT) -- A European Union court refused Tuesday to overturn €59 million ($83.9 million) in fines against Total SA's Elf Aquitaine SA and its former subsidiary Arkema SA for their alleged roles in a 1990s industrial bleach cartel.
