Senate Bill Would Create 10 New Federal Judgeships

Law360, New York (May 18, 2011, 5:33 PM EDT) -- Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., introduced legislation Tuesday to create new judgeships in federal district courts in California, Arizona, Texas and Minnesota to address the overburdened jurisdictions.

Under Feinstein's bill, the Emergency Judicial Relief Act of 2011, the districts would get new judges to tackle a caseload crisis that can cause delays in handling complaints and prosecutions.
