CVR Unit Settles $3.2M Suit Over Kan. Oil Spill

Law360, New York (May 18, 2011, 8:28 PM EDT) -- A CVR Energy Inc. affiliate gained court approval Wednesday for a settlement with three businesses that sought $3.2 million to cover damage caused by a 2007 oil spill in Kansas.

Coffeyville Resources Refining & Marketing LLC settled a suit brought by RBK Manufacturing Inc., JC Pump Co. LLC and J.D. Cook Inc., one of several cases filed against CVR's petroleum business in the aftermath of flooding that spilled 89,000 gallons of oil into the Verdigris River and onto surrounding properties.
