Kroger Sues Travelers For Assault Suit Legal Costs

Law360, New York (May 19, 2011, 6:44 PM EDT) -- The Kroger Co. sued Travelers Property Casualty Co. of America on Thursday, seeking indemnity from the insurer for ongoing legal costs and a $2.5 million jury verdict in a case brought by a woman attacked in a Kroger parking lot in Mississippi.

The grocery and retail giant is seeking indemnification under the terms of a lease agreement and an insurance policy held by its landlord in the Jacksonian Plaza shopping center, according to a complaint filed in the federal court in Jackson, Miss.
