EU Court Tosses Ryanair's State Aid Appeal

Law360, New York (May 20, 2011, 3:45 PM EDT) -- A European Union court rejected Ryanair Ltd.'s claims Thursday that the bloc's antitrust watchdog illegally neglected to act on the budget airline's state aid and abuse of dominance claims about Germany's Munich Airport.

Ryanair appealed to the EU General Court in late 2007, claiming that the European Commission had failed to take a position on the antitrust complaint it lodged challenging special access that Deutsche Lufthansa AG and its Star Alliance partners received at the airport.
