China Lodges WTO Appeal Over US Tire Tariffs

Law360, New York (May 24, 2011, 4:35 PM EDT) -- China told the World Trade Organization on Tuesday that it would challenge a panel ruling that approved the U.S. government's right to impose a stiff tariff on Chinese tire imports.

A WTO panel rejected China's challenge to a three-year tariff on automotive and light truck tires in December, finding that the U.S. had complied with the 1994 General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade and the negotiated agreement that allowed China to join the trade body.
