Vt. Fights Entergy Bid To Keep Nuke Plant Open

Law360, New York (May 24, 2011, 5:08 PM EDT) -- Vermont asked a federal judge Monday to reject a bid by two Entergy Corp. units for a preliminary injunction to stop it from closing a nuclear power plant, arguing the state has authority over the plant.

The two Entergy units filed suit in April to stop the state from closing the Vermont Yankee power plant after its license expires in March 2012, and soon after they filed a motion for a preliminary injunction that would prevent the state from interfering with its licensing or taking action...
