Insurers Sue SC Car Dealer Over Consumer Suit Coverage

Law360, New York (May 25, 2011, 4:50 PM EDT) -- Graphic Arts Mutual Insurance Co. and Utica Mutual Insurance Co. sued a South Carolina auto dealership Tuesday, contending they don't owe it coverage in an underlying consumer fraud suit against more than 200 dealers over allegedly illegal administrative fees.

The New Hartford, N.Y.-based insurers, which are units of Utica National Insurance Group, argue in an amended complaint that they have no duty to defend or indemnify Caldwell Chevrolet Inc. in the underlying suit, in which consumers say they were charged on top of the advertised sticker...
