Nikon Sues Sigma Over Vibration Reduction Patent

Law360, New York (May 25, 2011, 6:04 PM EDT) -- Nikon Corp. said Wednesday it had filed a lawsuit in a Tokyo court alleging that a camera lens manufactured and sold by Sigma Corp. incorporates vibration reduction technology that infringes a patent.

The Japanese camera giant said it was seeking to block Sigma from selling interchangeable lenses with vibration reduction for single lens reflex cameras that allegedly infringe its patent, and was asking the court to award damages for past infringement.
