US, Chinese Cos. Face ITC Suit Over Smartphone Case IP

Law360, New York (May 26, 2011, 7:12 PM EDT) -- Otter Products LLC sued a slew of Chinese and American companies Wednesday in the U.S. International Trade Commission, accusing them of infringing its patents for protective cases for smartphones and other electronic devices.

The complaint is the second that Otter, which does business as OtterBox, has filed over the patents in recent weeks, following one in Colorado federal court on April 26. The four U.S.-based defendants in that case are also named in the ITC complaint.
