4 Charged With Fraud In Rothstein Ponzi Scheme

Law360, New York (May 27, 2011, 4:49 PM EDT) -- Four Florida residents were charged Friday with conspiring to commit fraud in aiding Scott Rothstein, the jailed Rothstein Rosenfeldt Adler PA partner who allegedly ran a $1.4 billion Ponzi scheme under his firm's name.

Howard Kusnick, 58, of Tamarac; Stephen Caputi, 53, of Lauderhill; William Corte, 38, of Plantation; and Curtis Renie, 38, of Ft. Lauderdale helped the disgraced "lawyer to the stars" operate his scheme to sell shares in purported settlements in cases that did not exist, prosecutors charge.
