Edwards Indictment Over Cover-Up Imminent: Reports

Law360, Wilmington (May 31, 2011, 9:49 PM EDT) -- Former Sen. John Edwards is scrambling to reach a plea deal before federal prosecutors indict the two-time presidential candidate for allegedly misusing campaign funds to hide an affair during his 2008 run, several news agencies reported Tuesday.

Edwards could be indicted this week after a two-year grand jury investigation into charges that the candidate misappropriated $1 million in campaign funds to help relocate aide Rielle Hunter, his pregnant mistress, and to keep revelations about the affair from surfacing, according to CBS News.
