Race Bias Suit Claims Wal-Mart Sold Expired Drugs

Law360, New York (June 2, 2011, 4:35 PM EDT) -- A Wal-Mart Stores Inc. pharmacy manager sued the retail giant in Tennessee last week, claiming it sold expired drugs to a predominantly minority neighborhood and her supervisors retaliated against her when she raised objections.

Samantha G. Williams-Iwu said she discovered in February 2010 that pharmacy board procedures were not being followed at the store to which she was assigned, which sold old medication — some of it more than two years past its expiration date — according to a complaint filed May 27.
