Semiconductor Toolmaker Sues Rival Over Trade Secrets

Law360, New York (June 3, 2011, 9:31 PM EDT) -- Synopsys Inc., a supplier to the semiconductor industry, filed suit in Delaware on Thursday accusing a rival of stealing trade secrets protected under its licensing agreements with its customers in order to produce a competing product.

Synopsys, which makes tools to assist in the design and manufacture of semiconductors, filed the complaint in the District of Delaware accusing Extreme DA Corp. of gaining access to proprietary information through Synopsys' customers to create a product called GoldTime that unfairly competes with Synopsys's PrimeTime.
