Watchdog Calls On Telstra To Reveal Network Plans

Law360, New York (May 16, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Australia’s competition regulator has put pressure on Australian telecommunications giant Telstra Corp. Ltd. to disclose its plans for a high-speed broadband network after opening a public inquiry into whether to revise current rules for rivals’ access to phone lines.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission launched the inquiry Wednesday to determine whether it should vary the unconditioned local loop service description to open up access to other points of interconnection on the communications wire in addition to regulated access to the service.
