China Ends Wind Turbine Subsidy Program

Law360, New York (June 7, 2011, 2:12 PM EDT) -- China has ended a wind power subsidy program that the U.S. and others complained illegally required local turbine manufacturers to use only domestically made parts to qualify for multimillion-dollar grants, U.S. trade officials said Tuesday.

The move brings an end to a complaint that the U.S. lodged in late December with the World Trade Organization over the three-year-old program for the clean energy technology, which President Barack Obama has listed among his top priorities.
