US Ducks Suit Over Mont. Wildfire Mitigation Project

Law360, New York (June 8, 2011, 7:26 PM EDT) -- A Montana federal judge on Wednesday stamped out a lawsuit brought by two conservation groups against the U.S. Forest Service over a wildfire mitigation project that they claimed would lead to unlawful road construction and logging.

In the suit, Native Ecosystems Council and Alliance for the Wild Rockies challenged the Forest Service's Ettien Ridge fuels reduction project, which aims to reduce the spread and intensity of future wildfires in the Lewis and Clark National Forest.
