DOJ Wants More Info On UnitedHealth Purchase

Law360 (May 17, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Justice has asked for more information about UnitedHealth Group Inc.'s proposed $2.6 billion purchase of Sierra Health Services Inc.

In a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Wednesday, UnitedHealth said that it had received a second request under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act that day.

The request extends the waiting period imposed by law until 30 days after the companies have substantially complied with the request for additional information, unless the period is extended voluntarily by the parties or terminated sooner...
