Coventry Sues To Take Down Parody Twitter Account

Law360, New York (June 9, 2011, 10:13 PM EDT) -- Coventry First LLC sued an anonymous Twitter user Tuesday in Pennsylvania federal court, alleging trademark infringement over an account portraying the life insurance settlement company as rooting for death and destruction to boost profits.

Coventry First, which buys life insurance policies from holders at market value, is seeking an order that would take down the parody account as well as damages, arguing the account violates its trademark and causes confusion.
