Eni Sells Gas Pipeline To Relieve Antitrust Pressure

Law360, New York (June 10, 2011, 12:10 PM EDT) -- Eni SpA began a European Commission-mandated pipeline divestiture Friday with the $971 million sale to Italian state-run Cassa Depositi e Prestiti SpA of a gas pipeline that runs from Russia to northern Italy.

Eni divested Trans Gasleitung Austria GmbH, which holds the transport rights for the Austrian section of the pipeline, and reported total 2010 revenues of $388 million after settling with a European Commission antitrust investigation in September by agreeing to divest its stake in the TAG, TENP and Transitgas international pipelines that bring gas...
