WL Gore Slaps Bard With Suit Over Stent Patent

Law360, New York (June 13, 2011, 4:00 PM EDT) -- W.L. Gore & Associates Inc. sued C.R. Bard Inc. in Delaware federal court on Friday, alleging infringement of a stent patent, marking the companies' ongoing battle over medical device patents.

The new suit claims that two stents made by Bard infringe a single Gore patent and that the infringement is willful.

The two companies are no strangers to litigation with an appeal now pending in a previous case where Gore was ordered to pay Bard $520 million for infringing a patent for a prosthetic blood vessel...
