GoDaddy Sued Over Automated Email Patents

Law360, New York (June 14, 2011, 7:20 PM EDT) -- Inc. was hit Tuesday in Connecticut federal court with a lawsuit alleging the Web domain registry infringes two patents every time it sends automated emails asking customers to renew domain name subscriptions.

The suit, filed by patent-licensing company WhitServe LLC, seeks an injunction, damages and attorneys' fees from GoDaddy and one of the domain registry's customer, optical device maker Zygo Corp.
