Phenix Lumber Faces $1.9M In OSHA Penalties

Law360, New York (June 15, 2011, 5:33 PM EDT) -- Alabama's Phenix Lumber Co. faces approximately $1.9 million in penalties for exposing employees to amputation and fall hazards, among other safety violations, federal workplace safety officials announced Tuesday.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration proposed the penalties against Phenix Lumber and its principal, John M. Dudley, noting that the company has previously been cited 77 times by OSHA in the past four years for serious safety and health violations.
