UK Judge Rules Nokia Infringed IPCom Patent

Law360, New York (June 16, 2011, 1:45 PM EDT) -- A British Judge on Thursday ruled that two Nokia Corp. mobile devices infringe a patent held by IPCom GmbH & Co. KG, but 12 others do not, in a multibillion-dollar patent dispute between the companies.

Justice Christopher Floyd of the High Court of Justice in London ruled that IPCom's patent is valid and infringed by the Nokia devices, a finding which IPCom said was notable because U.K. courts are known for being difficult venues for patent holders.
