Chrysler Recalls 11 Models Over Column Collapse Risk

Law360, New York (June 16, 2011, 6:46 PM EDT) -- Chrysler Group LLC on Thursday voluntarily recalled more than 11,000 Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles over concerns that missing or misaligned rivets could cause the steering column to collapse in an accident.

If the steering column pivot rivets were not installed correctly or were never installed at all, the column could fail in the event of a frontal crash, increasing the chances of injury, the auto giant said.
