Judge Won't Block Watson's Generic Seasonique

Law360, New York (June 16, 2011, 8:10 PM EDT) -- A Nevada federal judge on Thursday rejected Duramed Pharmaceuticals Inc.’s bid to block Watson Laboratories Inc.'s generic version of the birth control pill Seasonique from going on sale within days, prompting Duramed to immediately appeal.

U.S. District Judge Larry R. Hicks denied Duramed's motion for an injunction preventing the release of Watson's generic version of Seasonique, which is scheduled to go on sale Monday. He ruled that Duramed failed to overcome Watson's prima facie case of obviousness.
