Covington Litigator Named General Counsel Of FEC

Law360, New York (June 16, 2011, 7:54 PM EDT) -- Covington & Burling LLP litigation partner Tony Herman will leave the firm to serve as general counsel to the Federal Election Commission, the agency said Thursday.

Herman, who joined Covington in 1989 as an associate and became partner in 1994, will lead a staff of about 120 in the FEC's office of general counsel, handling enforcement, litigation, policy, general law and advice, according to the FEC.
